USS Kearsarge

NOTE THIS MODEL HAS BEEN SOLD
ANOTHER CAN BE BUILT WITH A FOUR WEEK WAIT

I have always been fascinated by the ships of the period  between the US Civil War and the Great War. Technology moved so fast the ships were often obsolete before they were completed. The US Navy was also in a period of transition from a purely coastal force to a fleet capable of expressing the will of a Great Power.

The Kearsarge was one of the earliest examples of that transition. In an era when nobody was really sure of how well ships would work and many different theories were in vogue she represented an early attempt at creating a world-class battleship.

Constructed of cardstock, blueboard and wood this model is intended for display or wargaming. It is light and ruggedly built, all of the observation towers, boat cranes and funnels are removable to ease storage and transportation. It is priced at $275.00US and ships free in the continental US.

Payments can be made to my Paypal account or be directly in cash if you are close enough to Metro Detroit to arrange an in-person delivery. Shipping is extra outside the continental US. Contact me by email at callused.hands0@gamail.com.

28mm Tramp Steamer

a side view, the mat beneath the model has 1" squares

A battered old tramp steamer, far too long between refits and her log has probably been faked. Perfect for Pulp games where the heroes are searching for a giant ape, or making a delivery of "medicinal" rum to a thirsty East-Coast port in the 1920's. Constructed of blue-board, card stock and wood the model is both light and very sturdy.

1/50 Scale Model of the Castillo de San Marcos

Truly massive, and delicately detailed, this model of the Spanish fortress that has stood guard over Saint Augustine Florida for the past four centuries covers six feet square. Depicting the fortress in its original white stucco and bright red trim this model takes you back to the age of swashbuckling pirates and Imperial expansion into the New World.
